about

The release of Seaorm's third album "Nekyia" was scheduled for December 2023, but the CD factory was overloaded with work and had to be delayed until the end of January 2024. With a few weeks of waiting ahead, a keyboard fell into my hands and decided to write some new songs, and the result is the material that appears in this "Twelve Days of Winter."

All the music presented here was composed, recorded and mixed between December 26, 2023 and January 7, 2024. The process has mostly consisted of starting to sketch out ideas first thing in the morning, around 7, and continue until each composition was completely finished, and so on from the first to the last (which ended yesterday).

Initially I tried to create a daily composition, but after the first few days in which I managed to keep the rhythm, it soon seemed impossible, mainly due to my lack of practice with the keyboard and the tendency to complicate the music a little more every day.

For the keyboard sounds I have exclusively used Mellotron samples. I always wanted to fully explore this legendary instrument and I have been fascinated by using all these wonderful orchestral colors with that particular sound in these songs. On this album I play guitar, bass a little here and there, and the "virtual" Mellotron. All sounds other than guitar and bass come from the Mellotron.

The character of the compositions is directly related to my mood every day, in this farewell to a year that has been, once again, difficult. Thus, the first themes have a more melancholic character, and the last ones are more exploratory.

Finally, the compositions are presented in the order in which they were created: December 26, 27, 28 and 30, and January 1, 3, 4 and 6.
