My participation in the Minnuendo 2023 festival: this is one of the strangest things that has happened to me over the years of touring and concerts. They hired me to play solo, in the open air at the door of the auditorium, before the concerts of the Swedish groups Agusa and Änglagard.
I had prepared for this concert beautifully recorded tracks to perform a selection of compositions from my records, including much of my new work Black Pyramid. It was supposed to start at 18:00, and a few minutes before the time... it started to rain, of course. I began to hastily gather up the equipment to move it inside, and some of the organizers rushed to help, each grabbing what he could. When everything was apparently ready and I was about to start, the unthinkable happened: all the recorded bases had disappeared, erased. Terror.
Examining the "looper" I found that someone had extracted, I imagine accidentally, a memory card that contained all the recorded bases. With the bases of the compositions lost, I took the option of improvising the entire concert, something that, speaking with a friend the day before, I had half jokingly considered "to give the festival an avant-garde point" (a progressive rock festival after all, not improvisational or experimental music).
So that's what I did, two improvisations of 20 or 25 minutes each. The first five or ten minutes of the concert were lost (in the turmoil of the moment I forgot to press the red button), the rest is here presented without editing or cuts, as it came out. Of course, if I had been able to interpret the repertoire that I had been working on for two months, it would have been a beautiful walk, but certainly, without being perfect what I played spontaneously, there is an intensity that does not always appear. / Angel Ontalva

Another outstanding set from the band and as always hard to pick a favourite. _CUbe 1_ had a strong King Crimson feel, and that's why it gets the pick... not a great reason :) but a great sound! ((Sundog)) ... is a thing of its own, of course. Peter Jones
